Issa Asad Said Military Vets Taught Him These 3 Business Lessons
Have you ever stayed or worked with military veterans in the past? Well, most of these people are rare to find. If you get one, then you are lucky. Did you know that these are resourceful individuals? Well, I actually worked with them sometime back.
“Working with them has actually made me learn a number of business lessons, such as taking advantage of certain scenarios to increase the success of your business, and many more,” said Issa Asad Florida businessman, CEO, and social media expert. Mr. Asad is the CEO of Q Link Wireless and Quadrant Holdings, located in South Florida. He is also the author of 4 e-commerce and marketing e-books that can be purchased on Amazon.
1. Leadership is mindset
The people who normally work in the military normally have their own definite leader. This leader is recognized and appreciated by everybody. This leader actually knows what he or she is expected to do. He also know the rules of engagement and so on. In addition, this leader also knows the risks that are involved under his command.
On the other hand, the team knows the expected goals and the contribution that each one of them require to make. This means that everybody in the military knows his or her role. You will note that there is a difference between a manager and a leader. In business, there is the management aspect that take care of the operations in a certain company or organization. Mangers normally ensure that certain targets are met, budgets are upheld and so on. Leadership is also needed in companies. A leader on the other hand should provide inspiration and motivate his followers or subjects. One should actually lead by example.
2. Take advantage of vulnerability
In military, if a certain group deems itself vulnerable, they always ask for backups. More people will be sent to that group in order to conquer the enemy. One should not shy away from vulnerability. Most
businesses view vulnerability as a weakness that can make a competitor have an upper hand. If you are having challenges in business, you should not condemn yourself. You should instead seek mentoring so that you can overcome your challenges. You can also take time and learn from your competitors.
3. Consider teamwork
Working as a team has always yielded positive results. You will note that the military persons normally work as a team. They always identify a common enemy and work as a team to defeat the enemy. If they do not work as a team, they cannot defeat the common enemy. In business, teamwork is very important. You need to work as a team in order to achieve the set objectives. You just need to identify these objectives and work towards them. You can set targets and ensure that you attain them.
Those are some of the important lessons that I learnt from the military veterans. I have a strong feeling that these ideas can help businesspersons. Commitment is another value in the military. These people are always committed to achieve their goals. You also need to remain committed to your objectives. Practice these ideas in your business and you will be pleased. They are truly incredible.
